Apple may eventually announce new features for its streaming media unit--like App Store compatibility--but for right now, it appears the device is selling just fine. While Cupertino has announced some impressive sales figures for Apple TV, the company is also offering a special promotion over the next week.
Starting today, and running through March 5, you'll score a $25 iTunes gift card with the purchase of an Apple TV. But keep in mind the offer appears to only be valid at U.S. Apple stores and the U.S. Apple online store.
According to Yahoo, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the company had sold more than $1 billion worth of Apple TVs in 2013. There's plenty of speculation the Apple TV could turn into a micro game console, but there's no word on that front just yet. "We're working on some things that are extensions of things you can see and some that you can't see," said Cook during a shareholders' meeting.
