When Ashton Kutcher took on the role of Apple's visionary co-founder in the biopic Jobs, something must have really stuck. As reported by Recode, the actor will assist Lenovo in developing a unique line of smartphones set to launch sometime in 2014. Lenovo had previously hired Kutcher to promote its Yoga Tablet.
"This partnership with Lenovo brings together my love of technology and design that makes your life better," said Kutcher. "I can't wait to dig in and help Lenovo develop future mobile computing products."
Lenovo recently purchased the majority of Motorola Mobility from Google in a $2.91 billion USD deal. Lenovo's chief marketing officer David Roman says Kutcher won't actually work on the smartphones' internal circuitry, but will instead focus on the user experience. And lest you think this is all just a farce, Roman offers some (admittedly tepid) assurance.
"I know on one level, it sounds corny, but it is real," said Roman.
